The Funeral Portrait formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 2014, led by vocalist Lee Jennings, and spent years building a following through theatrical live shows the band calls Devotion Ceremonies before breaking through more widely with 2023's Sounds from Beyond the Abyss, Vol. 1.
2024's Greetings from Suffocate City gave the band its first Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay No. 1 with the title track, featuring Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills — followed by two more chart-topping singles, "Dark Thoughts" and "Holy Water." The band has also drawn guest features from Bert McCracken (The Used), Ivan Moody (Five Finger Death Punch), and Danny Worsnop, and has been vocal in its support for LGBTQ+ inclusion in rock music.
